Growing Roots In Our Community

Welcome to the web site for Project Grow in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. We are a group of volunteers growing roots in our community through a community gardening project. We have two locations in cultivation one at the Salvation Army Church thanks their generous gift of space to grow, and the second, a demonstration garden thanks to and in partnership with the Food Bank Of The Albemarle. Our group was founded in February 2008 and our first growing season is over.  We have had a pretty successful year so far and most of the vegetables we have planted produced bumper crops. Some of our gardeners have replanted and are well under way with their winter crops. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about growing food through the winter months.   Remember, Fresh food grown by your own hand is so much tastier than store bought foods.
